This necklace was created at the Caring Hands facility in Bweyogerere, Uganda.
The whimsical silver coloured pendant is made from a de-commissioned Finnish Markka coin which is 2 1/2 cm in diameter. It is suspended from a black cord which can extend up to 75 cm.
“Sisu” is the Finnish term for bravery and fortitude.
After completing the cutting of the design the pendant is varnished. The process to make this necklace involves several people to complete the different steps and can take up to 5 hours.
Besides shipping costs, all proceeds go directly toward supporting programs at Caring Hands Uganda.
